23 March 2015, SINGAPORE- Earth Hour Global, the Singapore-based headquarters of Earth Hour, is deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Singapore’s founding father Lee Kuan Yew. We express our heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and to the family and friends of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

Together with the people of Singapore, WWF-Singapore and the international community, we mourn the loss of a great leader and visionary. Mr Lee was the driving force behind Singapore’s evolution, ably guiding its transformation into a City in a Garden. His vision of a clean and green nation laid the foundation for environmental conservation in Singapore, home to Earth Hour Global since 2012.

Mr Lee leaves behind a lasting legacy for the entire country and as we stand with Singaporeans in this difficult time, we reiterate our commitment to work towards fulfilling his vision of a sustainable Singapore and a sustainable planet.
