JESSICA ALBA AND THE HONEST COMPANY SHARE WHY THEY ARE SUPPORTING EARTH HOUR
As parents, we know the choices we make in our everyday lives—even small ones—can have a big impact on our children and the planet. It is important to consider where the products we use come from, what’s in them, and their overall impact on the environment—all before they reach our homes, fill our cupboards, and are used by our loved ones. We believe if you can make an amazing product without harming people or the planet, you should.
That’s why we, together with Brian Lee and Sean Kane, founded The Honest Company. We are redefining the family brand by delivering safe, effective, and affordable non-toxic products, making the world a better place for our children and families everywhere. And like those in the Earth Hour community, we also feel a tremendous responsibility to the planet we call home.
From Honest’s inception, corporate responsibility has been a core part of the company’s DNA. So, we are constantly working towards innovative solutions to reduce our collective impact, causing no unnecessary environmental harm, and making products that are as safe as possible. We continually invest in eliminating supply chain waste by delivering directly to customers, using plant-based ingredients to eliminate toxins, and using 100% renewable or recycled materials in all packaging. We want to protect natural resources by minimizing waste and maximizing use/re-use, reducing the ubiquitous presence of toxic chemicals in our bodies, homes, schools, offices, air, soil, and oceans.
It’s our ultimate goal to positively change the way people, companies, and even governments make impactful decisions related to health and safety, social goodness, environmental protection, and sustainable business practices. And we believe Earth Hour is a movement that empowers people to make such a difference. Because of this, we’re lending our support to Earth Hour to share the message of sustainability while giving it a fun twist.
IF we get 10,000 people commit to switching to use one non-toxic, eco-friendly product in their homes, we will let our amazing, very creative children dress us and the rest of the Honest staff for work for a day – it’s going to be fun! This is our Honest “I Will If You Will” challenge for Earth Hour 2013.
We’d love you to visit Honest.com and our blog Honestly http://blog.honest.com/the-non-toxic-challenge-earth-hour-2013/ to follow our story and join us in creating a healthier and happier future for your kids and families by accepting our challenge at http://ehour.me/ehhonest.
